Super Bowl Snack Tips

The big game is almost here! It doesn’t matter which team you cheer for, because when it comes to snacking, we all have one thing in common. On average, Americans will consume 1,200 calories from snacking alone!! That makes Super Bowl Sunday the second-largest food consumption day of the year after Thanksgiving, according to a report from the Calorie Control Council.

So let’s reevaluate that party menu playbook! Try these delicious, healthy Super Bowl snack tips at your party and score a touchdown with your guests!

  • Just about every starting lineup has some kind of dip. This year, how about giving these rookies some field time – serve your hungry guests hummus, salsa, guacamole or spinach & artichoke dip with whole grain chips or crackers.
  • Tackle the munchies with shrimp and slider sandwiches!
  • Score an extra point (or two) with peanuts, fruit kabobs, popcorn and dark chocolate.

Winter Weather traveling

With the approach of winter weather, road conditions may make traveling tricky. Give yourself extra time to get to your final destination and leave plenty of space between you and other vehicles. Keep in mind that bridges, overpasses and infrequently traveled roads will freeze first, even if temperatures are above freezing.

Alliance Community Hospital wishes you and your family safe and happy travels this holiday season.
